Energy giant comes bottom in Which? customer survey
Npower, the energy giant, has been voted Britain’s worst utility company.
The company, which has 6.5 million gas and electricity customers, came bottom in a survey of energy suppliers by Which?, the consumer group.
In the survey of 8,000 Which? members npower came a clear last, with only 27 per cent of customers saying they were satisfied with the service they received. This was 10 percentage points behind EDF and British Gas, the next-worst energy suppliers, on 37 per cent, and way behind the 50 per cent satisfaction score given to Scottish & Southern Energy, the best-placed of the big six energy companies.
The top three places in the survey were all taken by lesser-known energy suppliers, with Good Energy topping the table with a customer satisfaction score of 79 per cent. A Which? spokesman said: “We’ve found that only the smaller suppliers are any good at keeping customers satisfied.â€
