Estate agent Knight Frank bonuses soar

Partners at Knight Frank have trousered bonuses worth an average of £600,000 after a rebound in the housing market bolstered profits.

The estate agent, which handles residential and commercial property deals, said profits jumped 168 per cent to £58.4million in the year to March 31 on the back of a 13 per cent rise in turnover to £288million.

Senior partner Nick Thomlinson put the bounce down to a recovery in the housing market in Britain.

The average bonus for the 57 partners was £600,000, up from £169,000 the previous year. The overall bonus pool swelled to £35.5million, up from £14.6million in 2009.
