Up for sale: The Apprentice house

Published 30th Nov 2010

Whilst Lord Sugar is busy bringing his special brand of humour to our screens as he hunts for his next apprentice, the house that avid viewers will recognize from the second series has just come onto the market - at a whopping £11 million...

Who doesn't remember the antics of Ruth Badger and Michelle Dewbury on the second series of the now annual Channel 4 show?

Hotly tipped to win, ‘The badger' was pipped to the post by arctic blonde Dewbury in the closing scenes of the finale.

Now, the house in which some of their most dramatic scenes were filmed has come onto the market - and prospective buyers will need a budget the size of Lord Sugar's ego in order to nab it.

The seven-bedroom Gable Lodge, located on London's most expensive avenue, The Bishop's Avenue - aka Billionaire's Row, is up for sale at £11 million.

This price tag is £5 million higher than it was a mere four years ago, when the TV show was filmed there. The price of fame eh?

Gable Lodge's neighbours include some of the world's richest man, such as Lakshmi Mittal, the Saudi Royal family, who owns ten houses on the avenue, and newspaper mogul Richard Desmond.

And you'll certainly be the envy of all - Apprentice badboy Syed Ahmed, who had a relationship with eventual winner Dewbury, said, "It's certainly the kind of house I'd like to live in. It was very contemporary and spacious. Very luxurious, and in a lovely area of London. It really set the tone of wealth, success and competition for the show."

The 6,000 square foot house comes complete with stone and oak floors, a granite and walnut kitchen and that essential - a plasma screens in the bathroom.

It also boasts planning permission for a 5,000 sq ft extension that could boost the value to over £20 million, say local estate agents.
