UK 'has strong property culture'

Compared to other European nations, the UK has a huge culture of property ownership, with more people taking out mortgages and moving house more regularly...

Experts at BuyAssociation have highlighted the UK as having a good property culture that steers people towards ownership rather than renting.
Paul Collins, property editor, commented: "it is relatively easy and straightforward to obtain a mortgage in the UK, which incentivises property ownership and encourages people to get a foot on the property ladder earlier.

"In addition, people are generally more interested in property, property trends, the market at large and related factors such as refurbishment and development.

Mr Collins added: "We've certainly got a property culture in terms of, not only buying property but of moving property as well," remarks Mr Collins. You just have to look at how many shows there are on TV."
